Rural Wellington Peer Support

In 2024, the Mount Forest Family Health Team, and Rural Wellington Community Team partnered with the Guelph Community Health Centre, Guelph Wellington Paramedic Services and Sanguen Health to deliver a collaborative program to address the opioid crisis in Guelph Wellington. This program was fully funded by Health Canada in 2025.

The Peer Support program is delivered through the Mount Forest Family Health Team to serve the residents of rural Wellington County. The ETF Peer Program builds connections, informs and educates residents about healthier practices and harm reduction. We believe the opposite of addiction is connection. We believe that connection improves health.

The team in Rural Wellington is made up of one Peer Coordinator and several Peer Workers.
